Uses/Benefits of a PAN?

There are not much benefits of possessing a permanent account number, as it is just a necessary rule laid by the IT department; thus having it is a compulsion & you must quote it on all your financial transactions in India.

It acts as an Identity proof, showing your relation to India.
If you wish to file tax in India, you would need to furnish it.

Also compulsory if you wish to carry any financial or investment related transaction.

 To start a business.
Needed if you wish to buy/sell property, open banking or investment account.

Copy of PAN has to be furnished if you wish to remit money out of India.

For transferring funds from NRE to NRO bank accounts.

 To apply for loans/mortgages.

For purchasing car or any other thing.

To deposit cash in anyone's bank.
 And at many other places.
