Detect Wrong GSTINs and File your GST Returns Correctly

The GST law which was introduced in India in July 2017, makes it mandatory to print the GST Numbers or GSTINs on invoices. This is something that you must already be aware of. Thereby, as a business owner, you need to ensure that you have the right GSTINs of your suppliers and customers entered in your GST returns for successful filing.

However, mistakes often happen unknowingly. For example: One might read 0 as O, or I as 1. These small errors might creep into your GSTR-1 forms and corrections take their own time.
The situation gets worse for your tax consultant. Firstly, he has to identify the error, then consult you and you in turn have to consult the respective party. It is likely that all these rounds will delay your filing. It might also negatively affect business relations with your customers since they will miss out on their input tax credit.

Tally.ERP 9 prevents you from recording wrong GSTINs

At Tally Solutions, we are in close contact with the business community and well-informed about the GST law. Tally.ERP 9 is built with a strong algorithm to ensure that only correct GSTINs are entered. The automatic error detection and correction capability of the product will alert you whenever a wrong GSTIN is entered.
Tally’s GST Software alerts you about any wrong GSTIN, when you are creating a ledger of a party. You can check for correctness of GSTIN with the respective customer right at this point. This proves to be more useful, especially when you are entering the data of a new party for the first time.  Suppose you miss out on this step, then at the time of filing your GSTR-1, Tally.ERP 9 segregates such transactions under Incomplete/Mismatch in Information. You can correct the errors in the transactions easily, and only after this, Tally.ERP 9 will allow the transactions to participate in your GSTR-1 return.
In this way, your customers will no longer miss out on their rightful input tax credit!
We strongly recommend that you upgrade your Tally.ERP 9 to the latest version to take advantage of the capabilities of the product and enhance your business.
